Because of new opportunities in their native countries, fewer ultra-high-talent foreign students are seeking higher education in America.
What isn't well understood by most Americans is just how dependent America is upon imported, foreign talent.
Heenan writes: "Today, the country continues to benefit enormously from being a magnet for inventive and ambitious people who stimulate the economy, create wealth, and improve overall living standards. Chinese and Indian immigrants run nearly a quarter of Silicon Valley's high-tech firms. Half of the Americans who shared Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry in the past seven years were born elsewhere. Nearly 40 percent of MIT graduate students are from abroad. More than half of all Ph.D.s working here are foreign-born, as are 45 percent of physicists, computer scientists, and mathematicians. One-third of all current physics teachers and one-fourth of all women doctors immigrated to this country."
Many talented students come to America, because America has the best graduate schools in the world. That strength gives America a brain influx from other countries. But, other countries are catching up. We learn the Indian Institutes of Technology are more difficult to get into than MIT or Harvard.

USCIS has clearly mentioned that UI benefits are not considered a public charge.
There are several threads in IV also on this topic.
eb3retro clearly mentioned that he/she is not interested in the 'debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state', but still many without even checking anything anywhere just going on doubting, worrying, suggesting nonsense, etc.
[even though eb3retro knows that getting ui benefits is not a problem for gc application, it is surprising that s/he doesn't know where to find better information on ui benefits! atleast IV is not the best place to look for it! when people lose their job, are they not supposed to get these information by mail from the employer? atleast that is the law in most states.]
Anyway many people ask even things like what is the fee for this/that application, etc? And people even argue on that when anybody can get these information very clearly from USCIS website. It looks like many people don't even read basic instructions.

Are we going to get temporary DLs from now on?
Can someone confirm? I know IV is following up with MI state Attorney Generals office, but from reading the ruling the validity of the license is not clear.
Here is a response to a comments by DHS..Looks like for most of us whose i94 will be expired but have filed an application like 485 whic is pending..hence the lawful end date of stay is indeterminate - the license will be 1 year only...bummer

of applicants who wish to renew their licenses but their applications

permanent document demonstrating lawful status. Another commenter
suggested that such an interim card be based on the applicant's visa
until authorization is received and verified through SAVE, which should

to use a license expiration date 90 days beyond the expiration date of
the immigration document to allow for USCIS processing of applications
to extend lawful status. Commenters said that individuals in certain

documentation showing extended lawful status upon renewal because in
most cases, their statuses will not have been extended but merely
continued.
Response: Again, State DMVs will use the SAVE system, and not

Does anyone have the telephone number or email id of USCIS Headquarters Referral Management Team ? How do i reset the password by calling them. I forgot the answers to prompt questions too.

Have you sent the renewal papers to the right location? If not, after Mar 26th receive date, the applications will be sent back to the applicant - to be sent to the correct lock box.

Saxx, try making sure you don't have other Flash windows up. I'm using the Sound Spectrum analyzer and it doesn't like to share with other flash apps. Close any YouTube windows you have up and try again please.
